Unrequited love is one of my favorite subjects to write about. This song is about that feeling of seeing someone across the dance floor, and building up a picture of what that person must be like, and falling in love with the image you’ve created. What your imagination creates may or may not have anything to do with that person of course (No time for words and names), and I tried to make it ambiguous as to whether or not the narrator ever leaves the comfort of being a wall flower. I’ll let you decide. -JJ

Sweet like ice cream in my mouth
You turn me on when lights go out
It’s a dance, the words a game
One that I’d die to play
So I hide, close my eyes
And pretend not to care when you’re with other guys
And wonder if you’re winning by my pain

Make it stop, make it stop
I don’t think I can wait any longer
It’s a laugh, it’s a laugh
Did you really think that I was stronger?
Give it up, give it up
Break the tension from pressure still rising
Make it stop, make it stop
Sweet release would feel so satisfying

Stains like ice cream on your gown
You make me fall, make me go down
And every ending is the same
No time for words and names
My disguise? It’s a lie.
I deny how I feel when your skin touches mine
You never cease to leave my soul in flames

Make it stop, make it stop
I don’t think I can wait any longer
It’s a laugh, it’s a laugh
Did you really think that I was stronger?
Give it up, give it up
Break the tension from pressure still rising
Make it stop, make it stop
Sweet release would feel so satisfying
