Oh So Wins Last Band Standing!
Beautiful Ones,
You did it! Because of you, we have succeeded in winning the Last Band Standing competition.
Special thanks to Rob Richmond, who ran sound for all three rounds we played, and to DJ Cadybug for keeping the momentum going in between bands. Extra special thanks to the staff at Wild Wing Cafe, who were a pleasure to work with.
Extra extra special thanks to Jam Thicket, the band we competed against in the final round, who put on an incredible show, and were some of the kindest, most humble people that we’ve ever played with. They exemplify the spirit of The 434.
We could not have accomplished this goal without the love and support of everyone that came to the shows, voted in the polls, and helped us spread the word online. This is Your Victory. No matter where you are, near or far, you are all a part of The 434.
To show our appreciation, here is a free download of the five song “434 vI” EP from our bandcamp page, available this weekend only. Pat yourselves on the back, because you deserve it! s/t

Erotic One
I’m pleased to announce the pending release of a new EP:
Erotic One is the first in a small series of EPs to be issued over the next couple of months. The premise of these EPs is twofold:
First: The EPs are intended as a companion to the full length album released on Radio-Active-Music earlier this year, All I Ever Wanted. If All I Ever Wanted is like a tunnel through some of life’s darker feelings, these EPs are the light at the end of that tunnel. Erotic One and it’s future companions are here to make you laugh, make you dance, and maybe more…
Second: I wanted to pay tribute to one of my favorite eras in pop music. I’ll call it 1979-1984. I spent the better part of my teen years in used record shops up and down the east coast, taking hours at a time to dig through crate after crate of records, searching for gems from my favorite new wave, new romantic, and synth pop artists. Maybe it’s my perception, but I feel like it was much more commonplace at that time for bands to release singles and EPs: small groups of tracks that may or may not fit the general theme of a record, along with scads of incredible remixes.
Erotic One is like the digital equivalent of those 12 inch records I used to love so much. This time, instead of blowing dust off an old record and painstakingly placing the needle, all you have to do is download these tracks and load them on your mp3 player.
For those that are interested in a preview, we’ve uploaded a remix of one of the Erotic One tracks to our bandcamp page as a FREE single. Click below to check out “Make It Stop (I Scream Edit).”
Lyrics for all of the tracks on Erotic One can also now be found on the lyrics page. The EP will be released first on our bandcamp page starting Thursday, 10/20, with other vendors (iTunes, Amazon mp3, et al) to follow.

Break The Cycle
Thanks to everyone who voted for Oh So in Subculture Shock’s “Best of 2010″ poll. Though we didn’t take the #1 slot, we did make it into the top 10, which is a pretty incredible feat for a band that doesn’t even have a record out yet. Though we promised an exclusive, free downloadable single if we took #1, here it is anyway! This song will not be featured on the upcoming full length- it is truly exclusive- and FREE.
